I promised to show you the other items I made with the wool sweaters I found at Value Village. I had also recently visited the library and found this book which showed me how to do this: Warm Fuzzies
Again - tons o' fun to make!

Felted Kittie Charms
I love these phone charms the most (since I am a cat person). These were really fun to make and can be used as a zipper pull, cell phone charm, etc. I was inspired by a handmade glass bead I saw somewhere.

Tiny Fall Mushroom Houses
I made these little houses last fall, but only got around to taking pictures of them recently. These little houses are meant to be displayed in a 1:12 dollhouse, so you can imagine, they are pretty tiny. Mushrooms are quite big in the handmade world, so, I thought about what I could make that was mushroomy and tiny. I have been wanting to make some drippy candles, and I had some extra little pumpkins. I also made some for a Christmas theme, and I will show those in a future post as well.

Felted Wool Sweater Owl
My sister gave me a Chapters card for Christmas and I purchased a book with it, called Countryside Softies. I had read about how to felt wool sweaters, by basically putting them in the washing machine in hot water, then hanging them to dry. I tried one sweater which happened to be an old one my DH was getting rid of. With book in hand and some newly felted green wool sweater, I made this owl. Isn't he cute!
Of course, once I was done this little guy, I headed out to Value Village looking for more wool sweaters to felt. I have already made a couple of other items, which you will see in another post. Stay tuned!

Felted Cupcake Charms
I had a lot of fun making these cupcake charms. They are relatively quick (compared to creating more detailed wool sculptures). Great to give as a fun trinket to the top of a gift. These can be used as zipper pulls, cell phone charms, or to hang anyplace one wants to view them that makes them smile.

Scroll Saw Goodies
I am not sure if anyone knows that Jason bought be a scroll saw last year. I have been wanting to cut shapes out of wood and paint them for years. The scroll saw also allows me to rough cut wood before carving.
These birdhouse ornaments were made with the hopes of selling them at the craft sale last December, however, none sold. I was asking $9.00 ea - do you think that was too much?
